PrintMTU Shanghai Representative Office, PR China
In February 2010, MTU Aero Engines opened its new representative office in Shanghai on the Yangtze river delta. Its purpose is to coordinate the leading German engine manufacturer's various activities in China and to play a part in the promising future development of the aviation industry in China.
In late 2009, MTU had agreed with Chinese engine manufacturer AVIC Commercial Aircraft Engine Co. Ltd. (ACAE) to jointly conduct a study to explore options of building a domestic aircraft engine industry in China.
MTU Maintenance Zhuhai, China
MTU started to build a permanent presence in China when its affiliate MTU Maintenance Zhuhai opened shop in Zhuhai's Free Trade Zone in 2002. The joint venture of MTU and China Southern Airlines, the country's largest airline, proved a great success and has since grown into the largest commercial engine maintenance shop in China.
